Osaka, Kansai, Japan 18 August 2025 – The Indonesia Pavilion has reached another impressive milestone during its participation at World Expo 2025 Osaka. Coinciding with Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebration on 17 August 2025, the Pavilion welcomed its 2 millionth visitor since the Expo’s opening in April 2025. This achievement highlights the strong enthusiasm of both Japanese and international audiences for the Indonesia Pavilion, which carries the theme “Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future.”
The 2 millionth visitor, hailing from Tokyo, Japan, was warmly greeted by the Indonesia Pavilion team and awarded a door prize of return tickets Japan–Bali–Japan along with a hotel voucher for a 3-day, 2-night stay.
“The giveaway aims to encourage visitors to explore more about Indonesia, while also attracting even greater numbers in the remaining two months. Several more free ticket giveaways will be held until we reach the target of 2.8 million visitors,” said Indonesia Pavilion Director Rahmat Mulianda at Expo 2025 Osaka.
From April to mid-August, the Indonesia Pavilion has showcased a wide range of flagship programmes, from Business Forums, business matching, investment promotion, craft, fashion and culinary exhibitions, to cultural performances. A total of 51 business forum activities have been held, involving various ministries/agencies, regional governments, and companies from both Indonesia and abroad. Reaching 2 million visitors on Independence Day is not only a proud achievement but also a motivation to continue providing the best possible experience for visitors. The Pavilion will keep presenting diverse art performances, traditional Indonesian cuisine, and eco-friendly innovations that embody Indonesia’s spirit of sustainable development.
The Indonesia Pavilion is a miniature version of Indonesia itself. Every visitor becomes an ambassador, taking home stories and impressions of the country. This is expected to positively impact and boost Indonesia’s tourism, trade, and investment sectors. The Pavilion remains optimistic in maintaining its momentum to attract even more global participation until the Expo’s closing on 13 October.
