Indonesia’s Key Focuses at the 2024 HLF MSP: Cooperation, Fresh Initiatives, and Policy Directions

Jakarta, 27 Agustus 2024 – Indonesia will push for three crucial matters to be agreed upon by participating countries at the 2024 High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholders Partnership (HLF MSP), according to the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas’ Director of Foreign Politics and International Development Cooperation Hendra Wahanu Prabadani.

First, the summary and policy recommendations. The conclusions drawn from the talks and parallel sessions will be summarized into concrete policy recommendations that will help implement inclusive and sustainable development policies and assist the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

The second matter concerns the new commitments and initiatives from various stakeholders, including the private sector, philanthropy, and civil society organizations, to collaborate on development projects focused on innovation and alternative solutions.

Finally, the completion of a Framework for Multi-Stakeholder Partnership. The creation of new collaboration platforms for effective information and resource exchange will help promote increased cooperation between the government, private sector, and civil society.

Hendra stated that the forum, to be held from 1-3 September 2024 in Bali, will serve as a significant milestone in the history of international diplomacy and development cooperation, especially among developing countries. "In this forum, we hope to genuinely find various alternative solutions to the deadlocks in development issues so that all parties have a commitment and role in addressing them together," he said on Tuesday (27/8/2024) in Jakarta.

The 2024 HLF MSP takes place on the 69th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference, also known as the Bandung Spirit, which emphasized the spirit of solidarity and cooperation among developing countries. The upcoming meeting is expected to serve as a platform that brings together various stakeholders from around the world to design a more inclusive and sustainable future together, in accordance with the Bandung Spirit, which has been the foundation since 1955.

"By reviving the Bandung Spirit, Indonesia aims to remind the world of the importance of solidarity among developing countries," Hendra stated.

The 2024 HLF MSP will be a pivotal moment in the history of international diplomacy and development cooperation, particularly between developing countries. This forum will not only find solutions to global development impasses but will also ensure that all parties are committed to pursuing these solutions together. (Bappenas/TR/Elvira Inda Sari).
