Ratification of Long-Term Development Plan Bill an Important Foundation of the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision

JAKARTA – The government, together with the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has completed the long-term national development planning through two significant agendas.

The Draft Bill on the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) was officially approved by the Legislative Body of the DPR RI on Monday, 19 August, and on Tuesday, 20 August, the ratification of the 2025-2045 RPJPN Draft Bill was also formally agreed upon in the DPR RI Plenary Session as a strategic step toward achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision.

The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of all parties involved in this legislative process. “We extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all parties involved in this process. The contributions of the leadership and members of the Committee IV of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) played a crucial role in establishing a solid foundation for Indonesia's national development over the next twenty years,” said Minister Suharso.

The first significant agenda discussed by the Legislative Body of DPR RI on Monday, 19 August, was to ensure that the 2025-2045 RPJPN, which carries the theme of The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia: United, Sovereign, Advanced, and Sustainable,” becomes the main guideline in achieving more inclusive and measurable national development goals. The achievement of the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision will be carried out through eight development agendas, seventeen development directions, and will be monitored through forty-five key development indicators.

The second agenda, which took place today, Tuesday, August 20, was the Level II Deliberation/Decision Making on the 2025-2045 RPJPN Draft Bill in the DPR RI Plenary Session to ensure consistent and integrated implementation of the 2025-2045 RPJPN. The 2025-2045 RPJPN will ensure the principles of development agenda implementation, guarantee planning and funding consistency, control and evaluation frameworks, incentive systems, modification mechanisms, and effective public communication.

Minister Suharso Monoarfa also emphasized that the 2025-2045 RPJPN must be able to serve as a guide for development to achieve the aspirations of the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision. “The 2025-2045 RPJPN is the compass that will navigate Indonesia's development direction for the next twenty years, orchestrating the development efforts of all development actors, both government and non-government, to be aligned, harmonious, and integrated in order to achieve the nation's aspirations,” concluded Minister Suharso.
