Indonesia Pavilion Showcases Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta Film and Soto, Sambal, Nasi Book at World Expo 2025 Osaka

OSAKA, Kansai, Japan – The Minister for National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy attended the launch of the short film Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta and the Indonesian culinary book trilogy Nasi, Sambal, Soto at the Indonesia Pavilion, World Expo 2025 Osaka.

“This launch reflects the overarching theme of sustainable development while also promoting MSME productivity, tourism, and new opportunities for collaboration. Culinary heritage serves as a bridge to strengthen Indonesia’s connections with the global community,” said Vivi Yulaswati, Bappenas’ Deputy for Economy and Digital Transformation and Commissioner General of the Indonesia Pavilion at World Expo 2025, on Thursday (18 September).

The Indonesia Pavilion has so far exceeded its targets in both visitor numbers and investment achievements. Since opening on 13 April 2025, the Pavilion has welcomed more than 2.8 million visitors, featured over 100 cultural performances, showcased 90 products in its rolling exhibitions, and hosted 60 business forums and one-on-one meetings, generating investment commitments worth up to USD 23.8 billion.

The Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta film and the Soto, Sambal, Nasi trilogy were initiated by the Didit Hediprasetyo Foundation. Directed by Garin Nugroho, the six-minute film captures Yogyakarta’s rich cultural diversity, community warmth, and culinary heritage through a modern artistic lens. Meanwhile, the trilogy offers an exploration of Indonesian cuisine not only through recipes but also through stories, traditions, and the everyday nuances that make food an integral part of daily life.

The Indonesia Pavilion is supported by a wide range of strategic partners, including Astra, Artha Graha Peduli, KAPPI, Pertamina, Barito Pacific Group, Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), Indofood, Japfa, BPDP, Garuda Indonesia, Telkomsel, along with various ministries, agencies, local governments, and other stakeholders.
