Musrenbangnas 2024: Bappenas Ensures Full Development Cooperation With Elected President’s Programs

JAKARTA - The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas held the 2024 National Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbangnas) in preparation for the 2025 Government Work Plan (RKP), which was held under the theme of "Accelerating Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth."

Held as the culmination of development proposal consolidation through a series of discussions from 28 April to 8 May 2024, Musrenbangnas 2024 provided an opportunity for President Joko Widodo to deliver important directives on national development planning.

"We already have long-term and medium-term development plans, as well as the RKP, but what needs to be improved is the synchronization. Synchronization is key from the ministerial level to the regional level. Everything must be aligned," explained President Jokowi at the Jakarta Convention Center on Monday, 6 May.

The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, emphasized that the Initial Draft of the 2025 RKP includes important plans that refer to the Final Draft of the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), the Technocratic Draft of the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), as well as several agendas related to the program of the elected president. "Integration with the elected president's programs will continue until the Government Work Plan for 2025 is finalized," explained Minister Suharso.

The RKP was designed to adhere to fundamental principles, namely the harmonization of central and regional programs, productive result orientation, and accuracy of targets and budget allocation strategies. The 2025-2045 RPJPN will only succeed if it is well-guided by the RPJMN, the Regional Medium-Term Development Plans, and the RKP, in order to fulfill the long-term Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision. "In order to maintain coherence in development planning, alignment between the central and regional levels is required, especially in terms of achieving Macro Development Indicators and program/activity plans," stated Minister Suharso.

The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas also held a discussion under the theme of "Central and Regional Planning in the Transitional Period," inviting speakers from various related institutions, both from the central and regional governments. The discussion was attended by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas’ Deputy for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Development Control Erwin Dimas and Acting Deputy for Regional Development Tri Dewi Virgiyanti, as well as the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Director General of Regional Development Restuardy Daud, the Ministry of Finance’s Director General of Fiscal Balance Luky Alfirman, the Governor of the Riau Islands Anshar Ahmad, and Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Rector Hermanto Siregar.
