The 2024-2025 European Union-Indonesia Cooperation Publication was released on Tuesday (17/9), highlighting the long-term partnership between the Government of Indonesia and the European Union, and showcasing the innovative programs and initiatives that demonstrate the commitment of both parties. The document is expected to serve as a reference for development actors and stakeholders.
“Indonesia and the European Union share many common values, including a commitment to the rule of law, regional cohesion, and multilateralism. Amid today's uncertainty and growing global challenges, the European Union will continue to be a reliable and steadfast partner for Indonesia,” said the European Union Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Denis Chaibi.
The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, welcomed the launch of the publication. “The partnership between Indonesia and the European Union has long played a key role in advancing various development priorities as outlined in the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan and in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This collaboration is a cornerstone of Indonesia's development efforts, and we look forward to even stronger and more efficient cooperation in the future. Together, we are building a better, more prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future for Indonesia,” said Minister Suharso in his remarks.
The publication presents various aspects of the relationship between the Government of Indonesia and the European Union, including initiatives in trade, investment, higher education, governance, human rights, environmental protection, and climate change. It also describes the Global Gateway as the European Union's strategy to address the world's most pressing challenges, from climate change to improving healthcare systems, competitiveness, and the security of global supply chains.
