Bappenas Encourages Global Solidarity Through Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships at 2024 HLF MSP

JAKARTA – The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas will hold the 2024 Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships High-Level Forum (HLF MSP) in Bali on 1-3 September 2024.

The forum will function as a strategic platform to strengthen the solidarity of inclusive and innovative partnerships in tackling global challenges and achieving the sustainable development targets outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) by 2030.

The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas’ Director for Foreign Affairs and International Development Cooperation Hendra Prabandani emphasized the importance of this forum as a way for Indonesia to establish cooperation with countries within the South-South Triangular (SSTC) framework, while also reaffirming Indonesia’s leadership position on the international stage.

“This forum (2024 HLF MSP) will open opportunities for Indonesia to strengthen its position as a bridge for developing countries in sharing knowledge, best practices in addressing development challenges, and revitalizing South-South Triangular Cooperation (SSTC),” explained Director Hendra.

Key themes such as strengthening SSTC, enhancing welfare and sustainability through a sustainable economy, and development through innovative financing will be among the key themes that will be discussed at the 2024 HLF MSP. The inclusive nature of multi-stakeholder dialogue in this forum is expected to overcome global development stagnation, generate innovative ideas, and strengthen cooperation between developing and developed countries.

Through the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Indonesian government hopes for the support and participation of all parties, including development actors such as central and regional governments, the private sector, civil society organizations, academics, and think tanks to participate and ensure the success of this global event. Not only is it a collaboration to find solutions to global challenges, but the event will also serve as a milestone towards achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision.

“We expect the 2024 HLF MSP to serve as a stepping stone and foundation for Indonesia to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision, namely strengthening Indonesia’s leadership role in the global arena,” Director Hendra said.
