Focus Group Discussion Aims to Finalize Key Points of RPJPN Bill, Accelerating Sustainable Transformation Efforts

The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, outlined key points in the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) Draft Law during the In-depth Study and Finalization focus group discussion of the RPJPN Bill on Friday (5/7).

Minister Suharso emphasized that the 2025-2045 RPJPN is Indonesia's roadmap towards achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision, which aims to ensure Indonesia’s status as a Sovereign, Advanced, and Sustainable Archipelagic State. This vision will be achieved through eight development missions encompassing social, economic, and governance transformation, rule of law, stability and leadership, socio-cultural and ecological resilience, equitable regional development, quality and environmentally friendly infrastructure, and sustainable development continuity.

"The 2025-2045 RPJPN is designed with a transformative, concrete, and imperative approach in mind. This means that the RPJPN will not only continue existing development programs but also implement fundamental changes to address increasingly complex development challenges," said Minister Suharso.

There are several strategic issues that are the focus of the 2025-2045 RPJPN. First, improving the quality of education and health will be achieved by increasing access to and quality of education and health services, as well as strengthening the social security system. Second, increasing economic productivity will be carried out by promoting structural transformation, enhancing competitiveness, and developing a green economy.

Third, improving governance quality will be done by strengthening the rule of law, improving public service quality, and combating corruption. Fourth, enhancing socio-cultural and ecological resilience will be pursued by reinforcing Pancasila values, promoting gender equality, and protecting the environment. Lastly, equitable regional development will be achieved by strengthening inter-regional connectivity, developing regional economic potentials, and reducing development disparities.

Minister Suharso also highlighted several development challenges that need to be anticipated, such as climate change, environmental degradation, geopolitical shifts, and economic recession. He asserted that the 2025-2045 RPJPN has taken these challenges into account and formulated strategies to address them. "We are optimistic that with the support of all stakeholders, the 2025-2045 RPJPN can provide a strong foundation for Indonesia's development towards achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision," concluded Minister Suharso.
